Debut Novel by Laurie McHugh

The Weight of Blood by Laurie McHugh - This is the author's debut novel.  I found it very suspenseful even disturbing at times but I couldn't put it down.  Focuses on two mysterious disappearances that are years apart and a teenage girl, Lucy Dane, who gets caught up in the mystery.  Dark secrets are swept under the rug in this small Ozark town.  Fans of Gillian Flynn, Scott Smith, and Daniel Woodrell will enjoy this gripping novel.
